(From the Kato Upanishad)
OM SAHANA VAVATU SAHANA BHUNATTU
SAHA VIRYAM KARAWAVAHAI

MA VIDVISHAVAHAI
OM SHANTI SHANTI SHANTI
Together (teacher and student) may we be protected
Together may we be nourished
Together may we work with great energy
May our journey together be brilliant and effective
May there be no bad feelings between us
Peace, peace, peace
Morgan Bursiel
A
lifelong student of music and dance, Morgan has enjoyed a personal
yoga practice for over ten years. In 2004, she was introduced by
Jean Couch to Balance, a method of rediscovering the body’s
natural musculo-skeletal alignment. Morgan continued her study of
Balance and yoga locally with Kay Hackney, founder of Interior Yoga.
The combination of yoga and Balance transformed her approach to
posture and movement. Exploring the body’s optimum
architecture in the yoga asanas, Morgan finds a sense of ease that
inspires her practice and guides her instruction. Strength,
flexibility, relaxation, and mindfulness are among the benefits she
appreciates both on and off the mat. Morgan is nationally registered
with the Yoga Alliance, having completed in May 2008 a year-long
teacher training program under Lynne Minton at Inner Dance Yoga
Studio in Anchorage. She is deeply grateful to all of her
teachers along the path of yoga, in particular Kay Hackney for her
guidance and support. Contact Morgan at morganbursiel@gmail.com.
Shanti Chagnon
I have been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching for 8. The foundation
of my training is in the Krishnamacharya vinyasa method which focuses on
linking breath to the body. I received the bulk of my training at the
Shoshoni Yoga Retreat leaving with a level IV certification. I have trained
with Shiva Rhea -Vinyasa Flow and Bryan Kest- Power Yoga. I feel most at
home with Power Yoga. Without a challenge we have no growth. Power Yoga
challenges on all levels; physically, mentally and spiritually. My classes are simple basic posesput together in a way to challenge the whole body from head to toe including the mind the focus being the breath and leaving the ego behind. I am also a Thai Yoga Therapy Practitioner a parachute packer and a rigger.

Trista Haycraft, LMT RYT
My yoga journey began at Chena Hot Springs in 2007 with a Kundalini Yoga book that I picked out for the most descriptive pictures. I went to my first yoga class out there with Lynn Minton who eventually became a favorite influence on my yoga practice. I completed a 600hour Therapeutic Massage training in 2000 and have also been trained in Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Thai Yoga Massage and a variety of other healing modalities. Yoga just seemed the natural progression on my path of facilitating self healing in others. I completed a 200hour Teacher Training at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta ashram in the Bahamas in 2004 and taught small classes out of my own studio space for awhile. Since then I have taken many trainings with some very inspiring teachers such as Beryl Bender Birch, Sarahjoy Marsh, Donald Moyer, Julie Gumestatd, Paul Grilley, Judith Lasater, Adhil Palkivala, Carlos Pomeda, and Gary Kraftsow to name a few. Of course there is also the teaching staff of Inner Dance Yoga Studio in Anchorage, including Lynn Minton, where I completed another 200hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2008. My current passion is Yin Yoga which I studied with Paul Grilley in Chicago in 2008. It is a wonderful compliment and balance to the more active "yang" style yoga that we are accustomed to here in the west. I also am pushing myself toward becoming more experienced in Acro Yoga and hope to bring this playful and therapeutic yoga back home to Alaska.
I am a co-founder of Infinite Yoga of Alaska and am so thankful that I am able to share my experience with my yoga community and that I have the opportunity to learn from those who share their experience with me. I hope to bring more creative and community focused activities to the studio such as Kirtan, workshops and art.
I teach a traditional hatha practice including asana, pranayama and meditation. Classes range from gentle to moderate and all experience levels are welcome as I try to give instruction inviting practitioners to listen to their body and take their asana practice to the appropriate level for their personal growth and safety.

Susanne Lyle
Susanne’s teaching arose from the combination of a deep passion for yoga with her natural personality of being a learner. She started teaching when she realized that one hasn’t really learned something until one has taught it. Susanne’s main focus remains on her own personal practice as well as the study of yoga. As she believes that fundamentally there’s only one yoga, she continues to immerse herself in trainings and workshops with teachers of many different traditions, integrating them into her own practice and teaching style. Susanne feels grateful toward all her teachers and fellow yogis, particularly to her mentors Lynne Minton, Teri Viereck, and Kay Hackney, who’ve genuinely shared from their hearts, a quality to which she aspires.
